Deck Plans Disney Wish & Disney Treasure

disney cruise plan

I shared a photo of the below beverage cart on Instagram while on a recent cruise and got dozens of messages from people shocked Disney would have Pappy's bourbon. That specific 23-year-old bottle goes for several hundred dollars per drink, and it's on board Disney cruise ships. For example, Disney Dream will sail a three-night cruise to move it from San Juan to Ft. You can book a cabin with a balcony for $1,580 for two people, which is a solid price on Disney Dream. The $3,326 price tag for a concierge-level cabin is very good; those cabins usually start at close to $800 to $1,000 higher on many other three-night sailings.

There are folks who take vacations and disconnect, some want to remain reachable by friends and family at home, some want to share their trip on social media. Then there are some, like it or not, which have responsibilities that necessitate going online for work or school. Thankfully, there are plans plans available to satisfy everyone from NO INTERNET to Premium Surf.

The spaces themselves sure look cool, but if anyone has feedback from their kids as to how enjoyable this stuff actually is, please share in the comments. The big thing to know with drinks aboard the Disney Cruise Line is that their costs vary widely. Drinks in the ‘cool’ hurricane glasses (made of plastic) at the Sail Away Party are weak Miami Vices that are expensive. We’d avoid these both; even if you want a souvenir, put your money towards something better than a cheap plastic glass. Cruise liners have reputations for having small, claustrophobic staterooms that guests should really only use for sleeping and showering.

Your kids can (maybe) get into an older club

For an additional fee, Disney ships offer full-service laundry and dry cleaning services that will pick up and deliver clean clothes to your cabin. These beverages must be packed in carry-on (not checked) bags or luggage. While some gratuity is included at Palo and Remy, you'll likely want to add an additional tip if you enjoyed the service. If you stay in a concierge-level room or suite, it is customary to tip the Concierge Lounge hosts at the end of your cruise a recommended amount of $8 per night per guest. Parents can stay with kids and play during open hours on the first day and select times on other dates, but most of the time, the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab are kids-only. Your kids will check in and out by scanning a special MagicBand that also tracks where they are within the kids clubs.

During the evenings, dining attire in the three main dining restaurants is "cruise casual," meaning no swimwear or tank tops, but you don't have to put on a party dress. That said, many guests do dress up a bit in the evening, but it's not required unless you are dining in Palo, Remy or Enchante. If it's a sea day in a warm-weather destination, and you're bound for the top deck, that means looking like you're going to the beach. T-shirts, shorts and bathing suits (with a cover-up to go inside) are fine.

The Premium Surf plan does not support long-form video streaming platforms such as Netfilx and Hulu. The Basic Surf plan does not support long-form video streaming platforms such as Netfilx and Hulu. The Satellite Falls pool is located in the Forward of Deck 13, along with the Currents bar. Edge, the tweens-only hangout with tablets, TVs, video games, crafts, and daily activities, can be found here as well.

Some restaurants, such as Animator's Palate, are found on multiple ships, while others are unique to one ship, such as Tiana's Place on Disney Wonder and all of the rotational restaurants found on Disney Wish. Disney concierge service gets you access to the Disney Concierge Lounge, which has food offerings multiple times per day and a fully stocked fridge with sodas, juices and bottles of water. You can connect many of the cabins on the ship, which is often a much more economical solution for a family looking for more sleeping space (and bathrooms) than upgrading to a multibedroom suite. Roughly speaking, a family of four will pay about 50% more for two cabins than they will for everyone to stay in one cabin of the same size.

You'll see many families with kids in those preschool, elementary and middle school years. This way you don’t have to worry about missing the ship due to a flight being delayed for weather or mechanical errors. Once you make the decision to fly in the day before the cruise, you can then choose a hotel near the airport, port, or anywhere else in the city. During your online check-in, you will be asked to provide details on your flights, hotels, and transportation to and from the port. You do not have to include this information at check-in, and you are able to change these details at a later time if you need to. However, it is a good idea to start researching pre-cruise hotels, ground transportation, and flights if needed.

However, one of three main restaurants, the Enchanted Garden, is located in the Aft of Deck 2. The Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy both have similar layouts, as you can see in the full deck plan below. We’ll be taking you deck by deck to discover exactly what you can find on each level of this magnificent ship. The price can vary drastically based on the number of days you purchase and the amount of connected devices.

Whether you’re a first-time cruiser or you have sailed with other cruise lines, it’s always helpful to get the inside scoop on what to expect. The information in this post and on our printable planning guide will have you well on your way to feeling prepared for your upcoming Disney vacation. So, if I don’t know the answer to a question, I just make something up.

We contemplated doing something here for the sake of “research”…until we saw the prices. We actually found the shortest lines to be on Castaway Cay, where the characters (plus Jack Sparrow) generally didn’t have much in the way of lines at all. Perhaps this was because people don’t want character photos when they are in swimsuits?

We found that Disney was almost $500 more expensive for the same weekend, cabin type and length of sailing. Utopia of the Seas came out to $2,850.10 for two people staying in a balcony cabin, while the Disney Wish cruise, also in a balcony room, cost $3,337.20. If you want to bring something home from your trip — whether from a port of call or from the onboard shops — you'll want to budget for that extra cost. Souvenirs off the ship can range from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars, depending on what you buy. Be prepared that some shops will only take local currency; purchases at Castaway Cay shops will be charged to your onboard account. Most of the entertainment on board is included in the overall cost of your sailing.

These services can get busy during sea days on longer cruises, so plan accordingly. Inside all versions of the teen club, Vibe, you'll find a tech-friendly world with loungers, dance parties, smoothies and other teen-approved fun. Some of the coolest inside space on Disney cruise ships is dedicated to teens ages 14-17, but you can request for your child to attend this club starting at 13 years old. As with the waterslides, we recommend enjoying these first thing when you board if you want to try them without crowds. Otherwise, you won't find so many people in the pools on port days, early in the morning and right before dinner. There are thousands of people on the ship and only a few small pools, so plan accordingly.

If you are looking for the Walt Disney Theater, head to Deck 3 Forward. This is where every evening show will take place, whether it be a Broadway-style show or a magic act, Walt Disney Theatre is the place to be. Preludes is located right outside the theater, which offers Guests snacks like candy and popcorn as well as soft drinks.

Kids probably won’t know the difference and will have a blast, but we would have liked to see more scripted action from the characters, or a dance party that wasn’t stuck in the past. Both locations are open from 9 am until midnight, and are connected by a kids-only hallway, so kids can utilize both spaces easily. Truthfully, I’m not sure what the distinction between the Club and Lab is, since both venues offer interactive activities. Maybe they just couldn’t fit the entire kids area into one space, and since there are two locations, they needed two names? The Oceaneer Club is for children age 3-12, and has numerous themed experiences that will appeal to a variety of different interests and age levels. We had a chance to tour this club, but since we don’t have kids, we have no first-hand feedback on how the experiences are.
